Starting the Process:

Building a home does not have to be an emotional roller coaster. With careful planning, budgeting and effective communication, building a custom home can be positive and rewarding experience.

Teamwork between you, the architect, and me is paramount to designing your dream home. The architect will take your ideas and put them into drawings. I can offer ideas and options for materials and techniques for building your home so that we can make the drawings a reality while working within your desired budget.

Once the plans have been completed, I will seek subcontractor and supplier bids in order to establish construction costs. When you wish to proceed, we will review the contract, you can finalize financing, and I will start the permit process.

During construction, I will be in constant communication with you. Questions about details always arise and I will be sure that you are apprised of them during the entire process. I will offer suggestions to help you make the decision that is right for you. I never assume or pretend to know what you want.

I will also incorporate several of our subcontractors - the plumber, cabinetmaker, painter – to help in this process. Their expertise in their respective fields will offer fresh perspective and aid in the decisions that accompany building a custom home.
